Market-specific production planning

Activewear production planning for Qatar

A localized project brief for activewear orders planned for Qatar, covering specifications, samples, inspections, export terms and import checks.

Send a tech pack with garment type, fibre blend, size range, construction, quantity per style, label brief and destination. Confirm product and process support in a written quotation before sampling.

Availability depends on category and construction. Ask Fenalt to confirm the requested product, fabric and process in writing before samples or production.

01

Build the product brief

Keep the performance target measurable and tie each check to the approved tech pack and sample.

  • Record fibre composition, knit or woven construction, size range and intended use.

  • Set stretch, recovery, opacity and any test methods with the buyer before sampling.

  • Agree fabric weight and measurement tolerances against the selected material; there is no universal GSM range.

02

Import checks for Qatar

Classification and import conditions depend on the actual garment, fibre, construction, origin and trade terms. Check the current tariff with the official lookup and the buyer’s customs broker before estimating landed cost.

Local budgeting currency

QAR

Use Qatari Riyal (QAR) for local planning. Confirm invoice currency, bank charges, deposits and payment milestones in Fenalt’s written quotation; payment terms are order-specific.

Qatar tariff and import-document checkpoint

Before dispatch to Qatar, have the importer confirm the final customs classification and the documents for the commercial declaration. Qatar Customs lists a detailed invoice, original certificate of origin and transport documents; a packing list for multiple goods should include HS codes, and Customs may request Arabic translations. Give the broker the garment construction, fibre composition and country of manufacture, and ask them to determine customs origin separately for the tariff check. Then ask the importer to confirm any shipment-specific approval and the current tariff treatment, including applicable exemptions or agreements.

Shipping and delivery terms

Before planning freight, ask Fenalt to confirm the available Incoterm, named place or port, responsibility for import clearance, duties and taxes, and any available transit estimate in the written quotation. Terms are order-specific.

ICC Incoterms® 2020 rules

Example: a buyer in Qatar budgeting a knitted performance legging can give a broker its knit construction, fibre mix and garment details for classification before estimating duty.

Confirm fibre-content, care, origin, importer and language labelling requirements for the finished product with the local authority and importer. Requirements can vary by product and market.
