Market-specific production planning

Activewear production planning for the United Kingdom

A localized project brief for activewear orders planned for the United Kingdom, covering specifications, samples, inspections, export terms and import checks.

Send a tech pack with garment type, fibre blend, size range, construction, quantity per style, label brief and destination. Confirm product and process support in a written quotation before sampling.

Availability depends on category and construction. Ask Fenalt to confirm the requested product, fabric and process in writing before samples or production.

01

Build the product brief

Keep the performance target measurable and tie each check to the approved tech pack and sample.

  • Record fibre composition, knit or woven construction, size range and intended use.

  • Set stretch, recovery, opacity and any test methods with the buyer before sampling.

  • Agree fabric weight and measurement tolerances against the selected material; there is no universal GSM range.

02

Import checks for the United Kingdom

Classification and import conditions depend on the actual garment, fibre, construction, origin and trade terms. Check the current tariff with the official lookup and the buyer’s customs broker before estimating landed cost.

Local budgeting currency

GBP

Use pounds sterling (GBP) for local planning. Confirm invoice currency, bank charges, deposits and payment milestones in Fenalt’s written quotation; payment terms are order-specific.

UK label check before artwork approval

Before approving Great Britain label artwork, give the importer the fibre composition for each distinct garment component. Ask the importer to confirm that the finished label matches the actual construction; check Northern Ireland scope separately.

Shipping and delivery terms

Before planning freight, ask Fenalt to confirm the available Incoterm, named place or port, responsibility for import clearance, duties and taxes, and any available transit estimate in the written quotation. Terms are order-specific.

ICC Incoterms® 2020 rules

Example: a buyer in the United Kingdom budgeting a knitted performance legging can give a broker its knit construction, fibre mix and garment details for classification before estimating duty.

For Great Britain, verify the fibre content shown for each distinct garment component and that the finished label matches the garment. Check Northern Ireland requirements separately.
