A localized project brief for activewear orders planned for Canada, covering specifications, samples, inspections, export terms and import checks.
Send a tech pack with garment type, fibre blend, size range, construction, quantity per style, label brief and destination. Confirm product and process support in a written quotation before sampling.
Availability depends on category and construction. Ask Fenalt to confirm the requested product, fabric and process in writing before samples or production.
Keep the performance target measurable and tie each check to the approved tech pack and sample.

02

Import checks for Canada
Classification and import conditions depend on the actual garment, fibre, construction, origin and trade terms. Check the current tariff with the official lookup and the buyer’s customs broker before estimating landed cost.
These sources are starting points for the buyer and importer. They do not establish a tariff rate or compliance result for an individual garment.
Local budgeting currency
CAD
Use Canadian Dollar (CAD) for local planning. Confirm invoice currency, bank charges, deposits and payment milestones in Fenalt’s written quotation; payment terms are order-specific.
Canadian fibre-label and province review
For Canadian consumer apparel, provide the importer the generic name and percentage of each fibre present at 5% or more of the article’s total fibre mass, with separate fibre declarations for garment sections where required, plus the responsible dealer’s name and full postal address or Canadian CA number. Federal fibre information must be in English and French, except in areas where only one official language is used in consumer transactions. Confirm whether the exact garment requires a permanent label; for many apparel items, it must remain attached and legible through 10 cleanings. Check the current CBSA commercial-import guide and tariff classification for the exact product and origin with the importer or customs broker. For Québec, check the OQLF’s current product-marking and French-language guidance, and confirm care-label treatment for the specific product.
Shipping and delivery terms
Before planning freight, ask Fenalt to confirm the available Incoterm, named place or port, responsibility for import clearance, duties and taxes, and any available transit estimate in the written quotation. Terms are order-specific.
Example: a buyer in Canada budgeting a knitted performance legging can give a broker its knit construction, fibre mix and garment details for classification before estimating duty.
Confirm fibre-content, care, origin, importer and language labelling requirements for the finished product with the local authority and importer. Requirements can vary by product and market.
Planning information only. Verify current classification, origin treatment, taxes and product labelling with the importing authority, customs broker and buyer’s compliance adviser.
