Market-specific production planning

Activewear production planning for the United Arab Emirates

A localized project brief for activewear orders planned for the United Arab Emirates, covering specifications, samples, inspections, export terms and import checks.

Send a tech pack with garment type, fibre blend, size range, construction, quantity per style, label brief and destination. Confirm product and process support in a written quotation before sampling.

Availability depends on category and construction. Ask Fenalt to confirm the requested product, fabric and process in writing before samples or production.

01

Build the product brief

Keep the performance target measurable and tie each check to the approved tech pack and sample.

  • Record fibre composition, knit or woven construction, size range and intended use.

  • Set stretch, recovery, opacity and any test methods with the buyer before sampling.

  • Agree fabric weight and measurement tolerances against the selected material; there is no universal GSM range.

02

Import checks for the United Arab Emirates

Classification and import conditions depend on the actual garment, fibre, construction, origin and trade terms. Check the current tariff with the official lookup and the buyer’s customs broker before estimating landed cost.

Local budgeting currency

AED

Use United Arab Emirates Dirham (AED) for local planning. Confirm invoice currency, bank charges, deposits and payment milestones in Fenalt’s written quotation; payment terms are order-specific.

UAE commodity lookup before costing

Before costing a UAE shipment, give the importer or customs broker the garment construction, fibre composition, origin and proposed HS code so they can use the official lookup to check classification, current duty estimate and any listed restrictions or permits. Confirm any textile-product scheme requirements for the actual item separately. Ask the importer or tax adviser to confirm how import VAT applies to this shipment based on the UAE recipient’s VAT registration: the Federal Tax Authority states that registered recipients account for import VAT under the reverse-charge mechanism, while non-registered recipients must pay it before the goods are released.

Shipping and delivery terms

Before planning freight, ask Fenalt to confirm the available Incoterm, named place or port, responsibility for import clearance, duties and taxes, and any available transit estimate in the written quotation. Terms are order-specific.

ICC Incoterms® 2020 rules

Example: a buyer in the United Arab Emirates budgeting a knitted performance legging can give a broker its knit construction, fibre mix and garment details for classification before estimating duty.

Confirm fibre-content, care, origin, importer and language labelling requirements for the finished product with the local authority and importer. Requirements can vary by product and market.
