Plan a T-shirt order for Japan with a clear cut-and-sew brief, sample approvals, market checks and written project terms.
Specify fit, body and neck construction, fibre content, fabric weight and finish, size grading, artwork, labels, packing and destination. Fenalt reviews the brief and confirms product, material and process scope in writing.
Availability depends on category and construction. Ask Fenalt to confirm the requested product, fabric and process in writing before samples or production.
Classification and import conditions depend on the actual garment, fibre, construction, origin and trade terms. Check the current tariff with the official lookup and the buyer’s customs broker before estimating landed cost.
Confirm fibre-content, care, origin, importer and language labelling requirements for the finished product with the local authority and importer. Requirements can vary by product and market.
For a knitted T-shirt, give the importer its fabric, fibre composition, construction, intended wearer group and garment details before classification. A tariff code or duty rate cannot be inferred from this page.
Japan T-shirt labelling and import documents
For T-shirts sold to consumers in Japan, ask the seller, importer and intended labeler to confirm whether the product falls under the Consumer Affairs Agency’s “shirts” category. The CAA includes T-shirts only when they contain two or more fibre types or have a printed finish. For covered products, confirm the required fibre-composition and care information and the labeler’s name plus address or telephone number before approving artwork. CAA guidance says statutory information for covered products sold in Japan must be in Japanese and identifies a business with an office in Japan as the labeler. Agree among the parties which business can handle label enquiries and official inspections, then confirm the required Japanese wording and any specified fibre-name exceptions. For the import declaration, match the invoice with the bill of lading or air waybill, and ask Japan Customs or the broker whether origin, packing, freight, insurance or other-law permits are needed for that shipment.
Planning information only. Verify current classification, origin treatment, taxes and product labelling with the importing authority, customs broker and buyer’s compliance adviser.
