Private Label Clothing for U.S. Brands

Plan a garment brief, sample approvals, U.S. label review and import responsibilities together. Fenalt coordinates production with partners selected for each project; origin, scope and shipment terms are confirmed for each order.

Share a production brief

Make product decisions reviewable

Describe category and intended use, fit and size range, construction, material and known fiber content, colors, trims, brand placement, label artwork and packaging. Split quantities by style, color and size; add the U.S. destination and desired timing. Attach the current tech pack or reference files, identify the controlling version, separate confirmed requirements from open feasibility or sample questions, and name who can approve changes.

Reference images explain direction but do not settle measurements, fiber composition, construction or placement. Record those choices in writing and confirm them against an approved sample. Fenalt coordinates private-label apparel through managed manufacturing and sourcing with factories, suppliers, material sources and production partners selected for each project. It manages work from technical review through production coordination to delivery; it does not claim to own factories or manufacture in the United States.

Keep brand files and approvals traceable

List labels, tags, artwork, prints, embroidery, trims and packaging with file versions, placements and buyer-supplied materials. Fenalt coordinates custom branding, labels and tags within confirmed scope; feasibility, supplier, availability and commercial terms need order-specific review.

Agree who reviews each sample stage and what they assess. Give specific feedback on fit, measurements, color, material hand-feel, construction, branding placement and packaging. Record accepted changes in a dated specification revision and keep it with the approved sample as the production reference.

Confirm quantity, timing and quality scope

Fenalt’s standard minimum-order reference is 50 pieces per style. Confirm style definition and quantity breakdown in the quotation; do not assume different styles, colors or fabric requirements combine toward one minimum.

Sampling is estimated at 10–15 days for sample production plus separate 3–5 days for shipping. Bulk production is estimated at 15–20 days from pre-production sample sign-off to export dispatch. These are planning references, not a U.S. arrival date or unconditional promise. Confirm the schedule in writing after materials, partners, approvals and shipment arrangements are reviewed.

Define the approved sample, measurement points and tolerances, construction and material criteria, inspection scope, records and corrective-action process in writing. AQL 2.5 under ANSI/ASQ Z1.4 General Inspection Level II applies only when the written plan specifies the method and acceptance limits. It is a sampling method, not unit-by-unit inspection or a defect-free guarantee. Fenalt provides on-site quality control; needle or metal detection can be incorporated when required by the product, buyer specification or facility. Confirm the order’s activities.

Assign U.S. apparel-label and import checks

Before approving label artwork, assign a reviewer to verify applicable fiber-content, country-of-origin and responsible-business disclosures against FTC rules. Most textile and wool products have disclosure requirements with product-specific exceptions; apparel care instructions are addressed separately by the FTC Care Labeling Rule. Ask a U.S. specialist to check the actual product, label placement, claims and English disclosures; this page does not determine compliance. Read the FTC apparel and labeling overview, FTC Textile and Wool Acts guidance and Care Labeling Rule.

Identify the importer of record and who will prepare and review entry information. Confirm tariff classification and origin evidence for the garment’s actual materials and manufacturing steps. The USITC Harmonized Tariff Schedule is a classification reference; CBP administers entry and origin requirements. Do not infer a code or rate from a generic description. Ask a licensed customs broker or qualified import specialist to review product facts and import date. The importer remains responsible even when using a broker. Review CBP importing guidance and CBP textile import guidance. No tariff code, duty rate, tax amount, customs outcome or clearance time is stated.

Ask the importer’s tax adviser to identify federal, state or local obligations for the particular business, transaction and destination. Do not assume a nationwide sales-tax result from shipping route or Incoterm.

Confirm shipment handover and buyer actions

Record production origin, named U.S. destination, shipment size, documents, transport responsibility, importer of record and agreed Incoterm. DAP may be used for small-batch courier shipments and FOB Chattogram for bulk sea freight, subject to project confirmation. Neither term nor quotation establishes duties, taxes, clearance, landed cost, transit time or arrival date.

Gather the controlling tech pack, variant quantities, material and branding decisions, label and packaging files, desired sample stage, destination and timing. Mark approvals and open questions. Review Fenalt’s services. U.S. English native-market, Fenalt fact-owner, U.S. apparel-label/import specialist, route and publication approvals remain pending.
