Managed production for coordinated sets

Custom Tracksuit Manufacturing

Matching sets ask the jacket and bottoms to work together: fabric weight, shade, pattern grading, and construction all need to be considered across both pieces. Fenalt coordinates cut-and-sew development for streetwear, athletic, and contemporary fashion collections, from yarn and lab-dip planning to hardware and quality inspection.

The product can range from an oversized 450 GSM cotton fleece set to a light nylon shell or technical warm-up. The tech pack and intended use guide the material, block, and production route.

Build the silhouette

Upper and lower shapes need to move as a set

Pattern engineering balances visual proportion with range of motion. Fenalt develops jacket and trouser blocks from the brand tech pack or reference, keeping fit decisions coordinated across the two garments.

Jacket, hoodie, or warm-up top

  • Drop-shoulder, modern, or set-in athletic fit
  • Raglan sleeves and ergonomic paneling
  • Double-layer hoods, full-length zips, or color-blocked shell panels
  • Elastic cuffs and adjustable hem toggles for windbreakers

Trousers and bottoms

  • Wide-leg or open-hem bottoms for relaxed sets
  • Tapered legs with elastic-cuffed ankles
  • Articulated knee darts for athletic movement
  • Breathable gussets, concealed zip pockets, or elastic waist systems

Heavy streetwear

Pronounced shoulder drops, roomy bodies, double-layer hoods, and relaxed wide-leg or cuffed bottoms pair with heavy knits that support the intended volume.

Tailored performance

Raglan or set-in sleeves, ergonomic panels, tapered trousers, and knee articulation focus the set on active movement.

Retro shell

Woven nylon or polyester shells can use mesh or jersey lining, panel color blocking, full front zips, elastic cuffs, and adjustable bungees.

Materials for the end use

Weight and structure change the character of a set

Fenalt sources circular knits and woven synthetics to the price point and functional brief. The profiles below show how composition, mass, and finish can steer a tracksuit toward warmth, movement, or weather protection.

Construction across the set

Reinforce stress points without adding unnecessary bulk

Rise, armhole, and seat seams face repeated mechanical stress. Stitch type, reinforcement, and rib weight are specified around the fabric and garment function.

Seams and stitch profiles

High-stress crotch rises, armholes, and seat seams use five-thread ISO 4916 safety overlock or four-needle, six-thread flatlock, according to the construction. Flatlock reduces interior bulk. Twin-needle coverstitching finishes hems and cuff transitions.

Rib recovery

Necklines, wrist cuffs, and bottom hems can use 1x1 or 2x2 cotton-spandex rib at the source's stated 320 to 450 GSM. The elastane supports recovery after stretching and laundering; the finished specification should be checked with the selected rib sample.

Reinforcement and interior finish

Pocket entries, drawstring exits, zipper ends, and other stress areas can receive bar tacks at 21 to 28 stitches per tack. Self-fabric or herringbone neck tape stabilizes the collar structure.

Decoration, hardware, and packing

Branding options include high-density plastisol, soft-hand water-based and discharge print, flat or 3D puff embroidery, felt or chenille appliqué, reflective transfers, silicone prints, dip-dyed effects, and acid or pigment washes before assembly. Custom metal or molded zipper pulls, double-ended zips, grommets, engraved aglets, woven or satin labels, TPU care labels, and cardstock hangtags can be listed in the BOM. Each set or individual piece can be steam-pressed, folded, bagged with warning text and SKU barcode, and packed to the distribution-center specification.

Sampling and fit approval

Review both pieces together before release

The prototype sequence checks silhouette, drape, shrinkage, color, and decoration. Bulk cutting begins only after written approval of the Golden Sample made with bulk fabric, lab-dip color, trims, hardware, and full embellishment.

  1. 01

    Initial prototype

Available stock fabric in the target weight checks overall volume, shoulder placement, pocket position, and the tech pack.

  2. 02

    Fit and grading

CAD revisions align the jacket and trouser blocks. The source describes grading from XS through 3XL across the POM chart.

  3. 03

    Golden Sample

The pre-production set uses bulk fabric and finished trims for client sign-off before cutting.

Quality assurance points

  • Incoming fabric: four-point roll inspection, shade and lab-dip match, GSM, and shrinkage.
  • Line checks: panel stitch and tension, graphic placement, and bar-tack integrity.
  • Set matching: shade-sort tops and bottoms under standardized D65 light; check shrinkage, pilling, and dimensional stability in pre-wash samples.
  • Final inspection: measure against the approved tech-pack POM chart and agreed commercial tolerances; use ANSI/ASQ Z1.4 Level II with AQL 2.5 and metal or needle detection before export.

A managed route from brief to dispatch

  1. 01

Tech-pack audit. Review CAD, BOM, seams, and garment requirements.

  2. 02

Materials. Source knit or woven fabrics, lab dips, and hardware.

  3. 03

Pattern and sample. Grade, sew, inspect, and submit fit approval.

  4. 04

Bulk oversight. Monitor stitch counts, panel tension, and placement.

Questions and answers

Custom tracksuit manufacturing FAQs

What is the minimum order quantity for custom tracksuits?

The source states Fenalt's standard minimum order quantity is 50 pieces per style. This can support an initial custom-cut matching set without requiring a large stock of wholesale blanks.

How do you ensure the top and bottom of a matching set match in color?

The fabric for both garments is planned within the same dye lot where the production route allows it. Shade sorting under standardized D65 lighting is used before cutting to identify variation between jacket and trouser panels.

Can we provide our own custom tech pack and size chart?

Yes. Fenalt can work from client tech packs, vector flat sketches, and size charts. If the CAD pattern is not finalized, a reference garment or tech pack can be translated into production specifications and graded points of measure.

Which printing or embroidery technique works best on fleece tracksuits?

For heavy fleece at 380 GSM and above, the source recommends 3D puff embroidery or high-density screen printing for dimensional branding. On lighter French terry or performance interlock, soft-hand water-based printing or flat embroidery can help preserve the drape.

How do you handle fabric shrinkage and fit consistency?

The production plan includes mechanical compacting or stenter framing for fleece and circular knits, plus pre-production wash tests. Residual shrinkage is considered when reviewing the pattern and graded points of measure before bulk cutting.

What is the overall lead time from sample approval to bulk delivery?

The draft lists 10 to 15 days for sample production plus 3 to 5 days for courier shipping. Bulk production is stated as 15 to 20 days from pre-production sample sign-off to export dispatch. Confirm the schedule against the selected materials and order details.

Can Fenalt match custom Pantone colors for our tracksuit fabric?

Lab-dip strike-offs can be prepared against Pantone TCX or TPG references for buyer review. Bulk dyeing proceeds after the color is approved; shade sorting helps check that matching top and bottom pieces remain visually consistent.
