Material and finishing
Ask suppliers about single jersey and other requested circular-knit structures, cotton or elastane blends, CVC or TC composition, weight, yarn, and current availability. Confirm fiber percentages and performance against the brief and swatch.
Specify shade, colorfastness, shrinkage, and hand-feel. Confirm which dyeing or wash methods are available and agree test method, acceptance level, and lab dip or sample approval.
Discuss screen printing, discharge, specialty prints, embroidery, labels, tags, barcodes, and packaging with the selected supplier. Availability depends on material, quantity, and scope; approve strike-offs and trim samples.
Check certificate scope, supplier, material, and chain-of-custody for any organic or recycled-yarn claim. Do not extend a document beyond the product or transaction it covers.
Supplier and order planning
Knitting, wet processing, cut-and-sew, and finishing may involve separate facilities. Confirm which supplier performs each step and who owns the handoff.
Verify facility location, machine and gauge options, pattern and cutting process, assembly experience, subcontracting, and current capacity against the product brief.
Minimums depend on style, fabric, color, decoration, and supplier conditions. Agree sample scope and timing, then confirm bulk schedule after approval, materials, and capacity are known.
Agree fabric defects, torque or spirality if relevant, shrinkage, seam strength, colorfastness, POM sampling, defect definitions, and acceptance criteria for the order.
Confirm packing, documents, freight mode, named place or port, importer, and responsibilities. Duty preferences depend on destination, classification, origin rules, and evidence.
