Outerwear and performance garments
Define shell, lining, insulation, taped seam, water-repellent finish, zipper, and intended performance. Confirm material, process, test capability, and sample fit.
Denim and workwear bottoms
Specify rigid or stretch denim, wash, distressing, reinforcement, pocketing, hardware, stitch, and stress points. Approve the finish and construction on sample garments.
Minimums, materials, process availability, and technical support depend on the supplier and order. Avoid treating category examples as a guarantee of capability.

Initial quantity
Compare the supplier minimum, development cost, materials, and projected demand with the inventory budget. Confirm if minimums apply by style, fabric, color, or trim.
Pre-production validation
Agree sample type and approval criteria for fabric weight, shade, fit, construction, and design before committing to bulk inventory.
Phased reorders
Reconfirm current material, supplier capacity, price, and whether the approved specification remains applicable before planning a repeat run.
A clear handoff

Technical translation, material development, sampling, quality checks, and export logistics can be included when agreed. Identify owners for each decision and delivery task.
Requirements and BOM
Record POMs, grading, seam construction, stitch details, components, artwork, trims, labels, packaging, and acceptable substitutions.
Sample and fit
Confirm materials, sample scope, courier route, and timing. Review drape, symmetry, fit, hand-feel, decoration, and requested finishes. Log revisions and approve the final sample before bulk work.
Quality and finishing
Agree inspection stage, method, sample size, defects, tolerances, and acceptance. Confirm availability for any wash or embellishment and evaluate it on a sample.
Dispatch and delivery
Record the transport mode, named place or port, documents, packaging, and responsibility for export and import tasks. DAP and FOB are not interchangeable.

Check product information, origin, and import duties
Labels and claims
Confirm required fiber, care, language, origin, and placement details with the importer or qualified adviser. Keep origin language accurate and consistent with production records.
Chemical and environmental evidence
Identify applicable chemical requirements and tests. Check the scope and chain of custody for any organic or recycled-content claim against the actual product and transaction.
Customs file
Confirm classification, origin, value, duty, VAT, and importer responsibilities with current Swiss customs (FOCBS/BAZG), the Federal Tax Administration, or a qualified adviser.
For DAP, name the destination and confirm import clearance and charges. FOB applies to sea or inland-waterway transport only. Request a route-specific carrier estimate and allow time for customs and final delivery.
