Quantity and quotation planning
Compare equivalent offers, not unit price alone
State the quantity by style, color, and size. Tell suppliers which materials may come from stock and which need development.
Separate cost components
Ask for development charges separately from unit price. Identify minimums for fabric, dyeing, print setup, trims, and packaging.
Record assumptions
Request supplier assumptions for stock materials, custom colors, trims, subcontracting, and sample revisions. Review them before comparing quotes.
Plan a repeat
Before scaling up, reconfirm capacity, material availability, price breaks, and whether the approved specification still applies. Future stock and terms may differ.

Keep the approved product record current
Brief and technical review
Share measurements, bill of materials, artwork, size range, labels, packaging, and the intended date. Mark fixed requirements and acceptable alternatives.
Sample and approval
Agree sample type, revisions, materials, and dispatch estimate. Review fit, hand-feel, color, trim placement, and construction; record changes in the approved tech pack.
Production and inspection
Confirm production timing after approval, material readiness, supplier capacity, and scope. Agree check stages, POM tolerances, defect definitions, sample size, and acceptance criteria.
Freight and import
Confirm importer, documents, delivery term, named destination or port, and who arranges each step. FOB is for sea or inland-waterway transport only.

Textile information
Check current fiber-name and product-information rules. Confirm language, format, and label placement with the importer or qualified adviser before artwork approval.
Materials and chemicals
Check applicable EU chemical restrictions for the material and intended use. Specify tests and request evidence for the actual product rather than assuming compliance.
Calendar and customs
Work back from the in-market date with time for approval, material, production, freight, and import. Confirm classification, origin, duty, and VAT with Tullverket or an adviser.
Ask the carrier or forwarder for a route-specific estimate and include booking, handling, transit, customs processing, and final delivery. Build contingency into the collection plan.
