Small-Batch Clothing Manufacturing for Singapore Brands
Plan a small clothing run for Singapore with clear style quantities, sample approvals, and an importer or Declaring Agent handoff.
Set out the run by style
List units for each style, colour and size rather than relying on one combined total. Include fabric and composition, construction, finishes, trims, prints or embroidery, branding, labels and packaging. Fenalt's standard minimum-order reference is 50 pieces per style. Ask the quote to confirm how that applies to each fabric, colour, finish and size split; it does not mean every combination is feasible at that quantity.
Send a current tech pack or product description, reference images or garments, measurement chart and tolerances, known fabric composition, artwork and intended use. Flag provisional decisions and identify approvers. Ask the written quote to state assumptions, sample stages, materials, inspection, packing, transport, exclusions and unresolved points. No public price or universal material minimum is established here.
Keep sample and bulk timing distinct
Fenalt's sampling reference is 10–15 days for production, with a separate 3–5 day shipping reference. Confirm the sample stage, dispatch point and transport method. This shipping reference is not a guaranteed arrival date in Singapore and excludes customs clearance and local delivery.
The bulk-production reference is 15–20 days from pre-production sample sign-off to export dispatch. Freight, import procedures and final delivery are separate stages. Confirm the order calendar, materials, approvals and inspection plan in writing; this is not an end-to-end delivery commitment.
Before bulk production, keep the approved sample and tech-pack revision with the size chart, quantities by style and colour, label and packaging artwork, and inspection criteria. Record proposed substitutions or revisions and their effect on scope before approval. The inspection reference is AQL 2.5 under ANSI/ASQ Z1.4 Level II, where specified in the agreed plan. Define the lot, sample, defect categories, acceptance criteria and inspection stage. AQL is a sampling method, not a zero-defect promise.
Plan the Singapore importer handoff
Singapore Customs describes an import workflow involving a Unique Entity Number (UEN), an activated Customs Account and import permit applications through TradeNet. Its guidance says an importer may appoint a Declaring Agent to apply for permits on its behalf. The Singapore buyer should identify the intended importer and agree who will handle the declaration and supporting documents; confirm the actual shipment's permit and account requirements directly with Customs or the appointed agent. Fenalt does not claim to hold a Singapore UEN or Customs Account, file TradeNet permits, act as the importer, or serve as a Declaring Agent. Customs also advises importers to verify goods descriptions, quantities, HS codes and supporting documents, and to give complete documents to their Declaring Agent. The importer or qualified agent must confirm product classification, valuation, permit type, tax treatment and any product-specific requirements for the actual transaction. This draft assigns no code or duty rate, calculates no tax or landed cost, and does not claim a permit or clearance outcome. Singapore Customs: Import Procedures Overview.
Fenalt's delivery references are DAP for small-batch courier shipments and FOB Chattogram for bulk sea freight. Routing and terms depend on production origin, destination, shipment size and the agreed Incoterm. Confirm the named place or port, transport responsibilities, documents and importer handoff in the written quote. These references do not promise DDP, a freight price or an arrival date.
Prepare a clear project brief
Organise the product, size range, quantities by style and colour, fabric and trim requirements, branding, label and packaging artwork, approvers, inspection expectations and Singapore destination. Identify the importer or Declaring Agent early and ask them what information and documents they need. Fenalt can then discuss technical review, sampling, production coordination and delivery options against the brief.
Product-specific rules and label decisions should be checked with a qualified Singapore adviser before artwork or sale; this draft makes no product-compliance determination.
