For Swedish brands and buying teams
Small-Batch Clothing Manufacturing for Swedish Brands
A smaller first run can help a brand work through a defined product before expanding its range. Start with the garment, size range and quantity by style, colour and size. Also describe the material and known fibre composition, colourways, branding, label artwork, packaging, and who will approve the sample and production specification.
Fenalt coordinates managed apparel manufacturing and sourcing through factories, suppliers and production partners selected for each project. The work can include technical review, sample coordination and production coordination. Fenalt is an accountable manufacturing solutions manager, not a factory directory. Feasibility, scope and commercial terms need to be confirmed for each project.
Build the brief around decisions that affect the garment
A useful brief separates confirmed requirements from questions still to resolve. Include:
- Garment and fit
- Garment type, intended use, construction, fit and size range.
- Technical brief
- A tech pack or product description with measurements and tolerances.
- Materials and finish
- Materials, known fibre composition, colours, trims and finishing.
- Branding and packaging
- Branding, print or embroidery, label copy and packaging requirements.
- Quantity and approvals
- Quantities by style, colour and size, with sampling and bulk quantities listed separately.
- Delivery and ownership
- Delivery destination, desired timing, and the people responsible for sample approval, labelling and importing.
Images and physical references can clarify intent, but check that the approved specification records the decisions production should follow. Confirm materials, colours, methods and minimums for the specific product and selected partner.
Approve the sample before bulk production
Fenalt's standard minimum order quantity is 50 pieces per style. This is a standard per-style reference, not a promise that every fabric, colour or process has the same minimum. Confirm the quantity for the specific specification.
Treat sample approval as a clear decision: compare the sample with the intended measurements, fit, material, colour, construction, branding and packaging. Record changes in an updated specification and identify who approves it. The approved sample provides a reference for production coordination on the project, but does not guarantee every later garment or determine whether the product complies with market rules.
Put quality expectations in the project plan
Describe the measurements, construction details, materials and other points to be checked. Fenalt's approved inspection reference is AQL 2.5 under ANSI/ASQ Z1.4 Level II. Confirm whether this reference applies to the order and agree the sampling, inspection scope, responsibilities and acceptance criteria. AQL is a statistical sampling method, not a promise of defect-free garments. Deviations are reviewed against the agreed quality standard, and appropriate corrective action is coordinated with the production partner.
Swedish market information
Check textile labelling for Sweden
For textile products covered by the rules, fibre-composition information must be in Swedish when the product is sold in Sweden. The information must also be visible before an online purchase. There is no general requirement to mark textiles with their country of origin, but voluntary origin claims must be reliable and not misleading. Check the product scope, possible exceptions, label artwork and who is responsible for labelling before approval. This summary is not legal advice; ask a Swedish/EU product specialist to confirm the rules for the actual product and sales channel.
Writing this page in English does not change the Swedish-language information requirement for products sold in Sweden.
Read the Swedish Consumer Agency's textile labelling guidance for businessesKeep sample time, production and shipping distinct
Fenalt's sample planning reference is 10–15 days for sample production, with 3–5 days as a separate sample-shipping reference. Bulk production has a 15–20 day reference from pre-production sample sign-off to export dispatch. These are planning references, not guaranteed delivery dates. Transport after export dispatch, import clearance and final delivery are outside the bulk production window. Confirm the project schedule and shipping arrangement in the quotation.
Fenalt's approved starting terms are DAP for small-batch courier shipments and FOB Chattogram for bulk sea freight. Routing and terms depend on production origin, destination, shipment size and the agreed Incoterm. Check the named place or port and the allocation of responsibilities in the specific quotation; do not assume one term or route applies to every project.
Prepare the next step
Share the product brief, quantities by style, colour and size, known material details, label requirements and sample criteria through Fenalt's project intake. Fenalt can review the information and coordinate the next step for the project.
