Apparel Manufacturing for Portugal-Based Brands
Fenalt coordinates apparel manufacturing and sourcing from technical review and materials through samples, production, quality checks and agreed delivery. It works with factories, suppliers and production partners for each project. Fenalt manages the manufacturing solution; it is not a factory directory or open marketplace.
The buyer's location alone does not determine production location, shipping route or cost. Confirm these points for the project before production is authorised. Material availability and production feasibility are confirmed for each project.
Before requesting a quote
Prepare a decision-ready production brief
For each style, gather the technical pack or current specification, reference images and sample if available, material and finish requirements, approved measurements, size range, branding and trims, quantities by style and size, packaging and destination. Mark estimates and unresolved choices so they are not mistaken for approved instructions.
- Garment specification and references
- Materials, finishes and colours
- Measurements, grading and size range
- Branding, labels, trims and packaging
- Quantities by style, colour and size
- Destination and sales-channel needs
Name who approves the sample, specification changes, final artwork, labels and inspection plan. Identify measurement points and the controlling document revision.
From brief to dispatch
A managed path with clear approvals
- 1
Define the garment and review requirements
Submit a custom manufacturing request. The team reviews the specification and identifies questions to resolve.
- 2
Coordinate materials and a sample
Fenalt coordinates sourcing and sample development. Review fit, construction, colour, branding and measurements, recording changes by version.
- 3
Approve the pre-production baseline
Confirm the sample, measurements, materials, trims, artwork, quantities, packaging and inspection instructions before bulk work.
- 4
Coordinate production and quality
Fenalt coordinates production and can arrange on-site quality control. Set criteria, tolerances and inspection timing in the plan.
- 5
Prepare dispatch
Origin, destination, shipment size and Incoterm shape the plan. Confirm responsibilities and the named place.
Fenalt references
Plan against confirmed assumptions
| Item | Current reference | Confirm for the project |
|---|---|---|
| Minimum order quantity | 50 pieces per style | Style, colour and size breakdown |
| Sample development | 10–15 days production, plus 3–5 days shipping | Scope, materials and destination |
| Bulk production | 15–20 days from sign-off to export dispatch | Start after approvals |
| Inspection | AQL 2.5; ANSI/ASQ Z1.4, General Level II | Plan, defects and timing |
| Delivery | DAP for small courier shipments; FOB Chattogram for bulk sea freight | Origin, destination and Incoterm |
These are planning references, not a final quotation or guarantee. Confirm scope, assumptions, dates, freight and responsibilities in the project plan.
Portugal and the EU market
Plan label review
If a product will be made available to consumers in Portugal, include fibre-composition and label-presentation review in the approval schedule. Regulation (EU) No 1007/2011 sets rules for fibre names and composition information; Article 16 covers legibility and the official language or languages that apply. Scope and exceptions depend on the product. See the official Regulation in Portuguese and EU textile-label guidance. This summary does not determine compliance; ask a specialist to verify it.
Agree who verifies actual composition, Portuguese wording, final artwork and responsibility for making the product available on the market. Fibre composition, care instructions, chemical requirements and certifications are separate topics. Tariff classification, tax and import responsibilities depend on product, origin, destination and parties involved. This page does not calculate rates or costs; ask a customs broker or qualified adviser. For B2B supply or resale, record who provides the retailer with fibre-composition information and final label artwork, and who checks channel requirements; do not assume one party covers every responsibility.
Change control
Keep approvals traceable
The buyer approves the brief, measurements, materials, artwork, labels, size ratios and pre-production sample. Fenalt coordinates technical review, sourcing, production partners, quality checks and the agreed delivery plan. Record revisions and confirm their effect on materials, timing, inspection and cost before production.
