Small-Batch Clothing Manufacturing for Mexican Brands
Plan quantities by variant, the product brief and approvals before placing a run. Feasibility, origin and terms are confirmed per project.

Plan by style and variant
List units by style, colour and size, separating the confirmed first order from any repeat forecast. A collection total does not show that different styles, fabrics or colours can be combined to meet a minimum. Fenalt's current standard reference is 50 pieces per style; the written quote confirms feasibility and application to the product.
State what the run should help evaluate—fit, a colour combination, construction or presentation—and what evidence would help the team choose its next step. Internal planning does not prove demand, guarantee sales or commit either party to replenishment.
Product information
Prepare a brief the team can assess
For each style, share intended use, silhouette, knit or woven construction, known fibre composition, fabric weight if known, measurements, size range, colour, seams, trims, print or embroidery, labels and packaging. Attach the current tech pack and visual references. Images do not replace measurements, construction details or acceptance criteria.
Mark requirements approved, provisional or open to an acceptable alternative. Include units by variant, target date, exact destination, and who approves design, fit, sample, labels, packaging and inspection. For a performance or environmental claim, identify the supporting test or evidence first.
Fenalt coordinates technical review, materials, samples, production with project-selected partners, agreed quality activity and delivery planning. Origin and terms are confirmed per order; Fenalt does not claim to own factories or manufacture in Mexico.
Brief to run
Confirm each decision before moving forward
Review product and quantities
Share units by style, colour and size; flag open decisions and requirements that cannot be substituted.
Confirm feasibility and quote
Fenalt reviews the brief with project-appropriate partners. Materials, capabilities, minimums, scope, price and terms are confirmed for the order.
Develop and approve a sample
The reference is 10–15 days for sample production, plus a separate 3–5 day shipping reference. Confirm the start point, transport and schedule. Check fit, measurements, material, colour, construction, trims and labels.
Authorize the run and dispatch
Record the controlling sample and specification, quantities, quality plan, origin, delivery point, Incoterm and schedule. Review changes before authorization.
The bulk-production reference is 15–20 days from pre-production sample sign-off to export dispatch. It does not promise arrival in Mexico; transport, customs and final delivery are planned separately.
Agreed plan
Agree how quality will be assessed
Define measurements, control points, tolerances, inspection method, lot, stage, responsible person and acceptance criteria. Fenalt's reference is AQL 2.5 under ANSI/ASQ Z1.4 Level II, only as set out in the agreed plan. AQL is sampling; it does not mean every garment is checked or guarantee zero defects.
Fabric methods and tests for colour, shrinkage, strength, recovery or durability depend on the material and confirmed scope. Non-conformities are reviewed against the agreed standard and Fenalt coordinates appropriate corrective action. Needle or metal detection can be included where required by the product, buyer or facility.
Buyer checks
Check labels and import requirements for Mexico
NOM-004-SE-2021 covers commercial information for textile products, apparel, accessories and household textiles within its scope. Its listed areas include information about the responsible party, country of origin, fibre composition, care instructions and sizes. Application depends on the product and the responsible party's role. Before defining or printing labels, confirm scope, components, wording, language and presentation with a Mexico-based specialist. This page does not determine compliance.
Give the importer the exact destination and ask them to confirm classification, documents, current requirements and responsibilities for the garment, documented origin and date. No duty, tax, preference, landed cost or clearance timeline is stated here.
Put scope and terms in writing
Fenalt's general references are DAP for small-batch courier shipments and FOB Chattogram for bulk sea freight. Origin, destination, shipment size and the agreed rule determine terms. The quote should name the place or port and allocate transport, clearance, taxes, unloading and insurance under the agreed Incoterm. DDP is not assumed.
Confirm currency, quote validity, assumptions, payment method and schedule. Ask the proposal to separate confirmed details from assumptions and list open decisions.
Questions before placing a run
- Can I combine styles to reach the minimum?
- Do not assume so. The reference is 50 pieces per style; the quote confirms how it applies.
- Does the run include a fast reorder?
- That cannot be assured; a repeat needs a new review of specification, materials, quantity, price and schedule.
- Do production days tell me when the order arrives?
- No. The reference ends at export dispatch; transport, customs and final delivery are planned separately.
