Low-MOQ Clothing Manufacturing for Brands in Mexico

Plan quantities by style, sample approvals, and product-specific label checks before requesting a quote. Fenalt's current standard reference is 50 pieces per style; feasibility and terms are confirmed for each project.

Share a project brief

Fenalt coordinates apparel manufacturing and sourcing with partners selected for each project. Production origin, available methods, and commercial terms depend on the brief. Fenalt does not claim to own factories or manufacture in Mexico.

Make a small-run brief specific

List units by style, colour, and size; attach the current tech pack, reference images, and approved samples. Describe use, construction, known fibre composition, fit, measurements, tolerances, trims, artwork, labels, and packaging. Separate approved requirements from preferences and open questions; identify who approves the design, sample, label, packaging, inspection, and import documents. Include a target date and exact destination in Mexico.

For performance or environmental claims, specify expected evidence or a test. A material description alone does not establish finished-garment performance.

Confirm quantities and approvals

Fenalt's planning reference is 50 pieces per style. Confirm the applicable quantity and whether specific variations can be combined after reviewing the brief. Fabric, colour, construction, trims, and sizes may affect feasibility and cost; no universal combination rule or price is set here.

  1. 1. Review the brief and feasibility

Send the specification, quantities by style/colour/size, intended use, and destination. Separate confirmed requirements from open questions.

  2. 2. Develop and approve a sample

The reference is 10–15 days for sample production plus a separate 3–5 day shipping reference. Confirm the start point, route, and day-count basis. Review agreed measurements, materials, colour, construction, and trims before sign-off.

  3. 3. Authorize production and export dispatch

The bulk-production reference is 15–20 days from pre-production sample sign-off to export dispatch. Confirm the controlling specification, inspection plan, and change approvals in writing.

These are production and sample-shipping references, not a promise of arrival in Mexico. Transport, customs, and final delivery are separate schedule items.

Set the quality plan

Agree the lot, inspection stage, sampling plan, acceptance criteria, and result reviewer. Fenalt's reference is AQL 2.5 under ANSI/ASQ Z1.4, General Inspection Level II, as applied under the written plan. It is sampling, not inspection of every garment or a zero-defect guarantee. Non-conformities are reviewed against the agreed standard and appropriate corrective action is coordinated with the production partner.

Specify measurement points and tolerances. Where relevant, agree methods and criteria for shrinkage, colourfastness, seams, pilling, stretch recovery, opacity, or print durability. Confirm what the quote includes.

Check Mexican garment labelling before approval

NOM-004-SE-2021 covers, within its scope and exceptions, textile products, apparel, accessories, and household textiles for final consumers in Mexico with textile composition of at least 50% by mass. For garments, clause 4.1.1 lists commercial brand, fibre composition, size, care instructions, country of origin, and responsible-party details. Clause 4.2 provides a specific exception when the brand matches the responsible party name. The standard also addresses Spanish-language information, importer details, and label placement. The importer or adviser should confirm scope, exceptions, responsible party, wording, and placement for the actual garment.

Consult the NOM-004-SE-2021 in the Official Gazette and recheck status in the PLATIICA catalogue. This page does not determine compliance for a specific garment.

Leave classification and import cost to product-specific review

Classification depends on the garment's characteristics, documented origin, and transaction. “Clothing” alone does not determine a tariff fraction or duty. The SNICE LIGIE/TIGIE references and published amendments do not classify the actual product. The importer or customs broker must confirm the fraction, origin, and current measures for the goods and import date. No code, duty, tax, origin preference, customs value, or landed-cost estimate is provided here.

Confirm quote and responsibilities

Fenalt's delivery references are DAP for small-batch courier shipments and FOB Chattogram for bulk production by sea. They depend on origin, destination, shipment size, and agreed term. The quote should name the place or port and assign transport, clearance, duties, taxes, unloading, and insurance. See ICC Incoterms® 2020. No DDP term is represented. Confirm currency, validity, payment milestones, and other assumptions with Fenalt for the project.

For a project review, share the tech pack, quantities by style/colour/size, sample or references, target date, and exact destination through Fenalt's manufacturing intake.
