Full-coverage garment engineering

Modest Dress Manufacturing

Modest dresses need opacity, drape, coverage and movement to work together. Fenalt turns those requirements into production-ready patterns and controlled construction.

From structured maxi dresses and tiered abayas to fluid A-line and shirt-dress silhouettes, the managed route covers fabric selection, sampling, fit and final inspection.

Direct answer

A technical partner for full-coverage silhouettes

Fenalt manages CAD translation, mill-level sourcing, opacity testing, specialty seam construction, embellishment and delivery rather than handing the brief to an unmanaged factory.

Opacity first

Light-transmission checks and appropriate lining weights protect coverage without making the garment rigid or overheated.

Coverage in motion

Necklines, sleeves, sweep, plackets and crossover panels are evaluated against movement, not only a static flat lay.

Controlled finish

French seams, lining attachment, POM checks, metal detection and AQL 2.5 inspection protect the finished collection.

Silhouette architecture

Coverage without losing movement

Tiered maxi dresses

Multi-panel gathered construction with calculated seam allowances keeps panel weight balanced and prevents drag or structural sagging.

A-line and column dresses

Relaxed body proportions, side pockets and extended wrist lengths create coverage without losing movement or silhouette balance.

Shirt and wrap dresses

Non-gaping plackets, discreet modesty panels, stand collars and fixed crossover coverage are engineered into the pattern.

Kimono and abaya-inspired cuts

Wide sleeves, reinforced drop shoulders, French-seamed armholes and precision hems support full-coverage architectures.

Fabric engineering

Opacity, weight and hand-feel in one decision

Internal construction

Closed French seams suit sheer fabrics; overlock with safety chain supports heavier structures. Plackets, concealed zippers, bias-bound necklines and swing-tack linings protect repeated wear.

Brand expression

Embroidery, schiffli threadwork, soft-hand printing, foils, pleats and pin-tucks are developed around the weight and drape of the chosen fabric.

Sampling and fit

Four decisions before bulk cutting

01

CAD translation

Set coverage, bust ease, sleeve drop, sweep and neckline POMs from the tech pack or reference sample.

02

Proto sample

Use available sample yardage to assess proportions, seam drape and silhouette balance.

03

Fit revisions

Apply feedback and grade across XS–3XL or the brand’s custom size chart.

04

Golden PPS

Use bulk-approved fabric, trims and embellishments; bulk begins only after written sign-off.

Sampling

10–15 days production plus 3–5 days courier delivery.

Bulk

15–20 days from PPS sign-off to export dispatch.

Delivery

DAP courier for smaller consignments or FOB designated origin port for bulk freight.

Quality protocol

The dress is checked as a system

Fabric and opacity

Light transmission, GSM, shade, wash shrinkage and colorfastness are reviewed before cutting.

Fit and durability

POMs, seam torque, plackets, sleeve proportions, hem leveling and stress points are measured against the approved sample.

Final release

Finished dresses pass calibrated metal detection and ANSI/ASQ Z1.4 Level II inspection with an AQL 2.5 acceptance threshold.

Technical FAQs

Questions modestwear teams ask

What is the MOQ for modest dresses?

The standard MOQ is 50 pieces per style, allowing brands to test silhouettes, prints and colorways without high mill minimums.

How do you prevent chiffon or crepe from being sheer?

Fenalt uses light-transmission testing and can specify full-coverage linings such as cotton lawn or soft rayon while preserving the intended drape.

Can you work from sketches or reference photos?

Yes. The engineering team can create CAD patterns, baseline specs and POM charts from sketches, mood boards or physical references.

How are long sleeves and high necklines graded?

Modest grading maintains neck-to-collar ratios, armhole clearance and extended sleeve and hem lengths across sizes rather than applying a generic linear grade.

What are the production lead times?

Sampling takes 10–15 days plus 3–5 days courier shipping. Bulk takes 15–20 days from PPS sign-off to export dispatch.

Can you match Pantone colors?

Yes. Lab-dip strike-offs can be matched to Pantone TCX or TPG references and approved before bulk dyeing.

How are tiered maxi dresses inspected?

Inspectors review gathering distribution, hem leveling, seam strength, POMs and the final ANSI/ASQ Z1.4 Level II AQL 2.5 result.
