Apparel manufacturing for Italy, from buyer brief to export handoff
This English-for-Italy page explains how an Italian buyer can hand a defined apparel brief into Fenalt’s managed manufacturing process and keep decisions connected through sample approval, production planning, quality checks and agreed dispatch.
Make the first brief useful to both product and production teams
For each style, share the current technical pack or specification and a reference sample if available. Include garment type, construction, material and finish requirements, measurement chart and size range, branding and trim details, quantity by style and size, packaging decisions, and destination. Identify approved choices and mark estimates or open questions so they are not mistaken for production instructions. Feasibility and material availability are checked for the individual project.
For an Italy-facing collection, include proposed consumer-facing label text and confirmed fibre composition in the brief, while keeping label artwork pending until the brand and its Italian-language reviewer approve it. EU textile rules govern fibre names and composition statements; the responsible buyer should validate final artwork against current rules and the exact product. A label draft is an input for review, not a Fenalt compliance certification.
Fenalt provides fully managed apparel manufacturing and sourcing. It coordinates technical review, material sourcing, sampling, production partners, quality checks and delivery according to the project. This page does not represent a local Fenalt office or factory.

Carry one approval record from sample to bulk
Technical review
Submit a custom manufacturing request through Fenalt’s intake. The team reviews the specification and flags missing project decisions.
Sourcing and sample
Fenalt coordinates material sourcing and prototype or sample development with relevant partners. The buyer records fit, construction, colour, branding and measurement comments against the sample version.
Pre-production approval
Confirm the production sample, points of measure, materials, trims, artwork, size breakdown, packaging and project-specific inspection instructions in one dated baseline.
Production and quality
Fenalt coordinates production with project partners and can arrange on-site quality control. Record inspection references and tolerances in the order plan. Non-conformities are reviewed against the agreed standard and appropriate corrective action is coordinated with the production partner.
Dispatch handoff
Confirm route, destination, shipment size and the Incoterm agreed for the order. The importer or customs representative should reconcile final commercial and transport documents before dispatch.
When an approved specification changes, document the revision and confirm its effect on materials, timing, inspection and cost before it reaches production.
Planning references to confirm in the order
| Item | Current Fenalt reference | Confirm for this project |
|---|---|---|
| Minimum order quantity | 50 pieces per style | Style, colour, size breakdown and material feasibility |
| Sample development | 10–15 days for production, plus 3–5 days for shipping | Sample scope, availability, dispatch point and destination |
| Bulk production | 15–20 days from pre-production sample sign-off to export dispatch | Approval date, start assumptions and written plan |
| Inspection | AQL 2.5 under ANSI/ASQ Z1.4 Level II | Sample plan, defect definitions, timing and response |
| Delivery terms | DAP for small-batch courier shipments; FOB Chattogram for bulk sea freight | Origin, destination, shipment size, route and agreed Incoterm |
These are planning references, not a final quotation or a guarantee for every style. Confirm scope, assumptions, dates, route and responsibilities in the project plan. Do not infer Italian landed cost or customs treatment from a shipping term alone.
Keep Italy and EU market checks with the responsible buyer
Before artwork and order documents are final, have the brand validate fibre composition and Italian-language textile label copy against Regulation (EU) No 1007/2011, which covers textile fibre names and related labelling and marking. The applicable product and transaction should be reviewed by the brand’s qualified specialist; this page makes no blanket EU or Italy compliance claim.
For an EU import, ask the importer or customs representative to confirm operator registration details, tariff classification, customs origin, customs value, required declaration data and documents for the actual product and route. The European Commission’s TARIC database is a reference for tariff and trade measures; it is not a duty quote or an Italian VAT calculation. Import VAT and any duty should be checked with the responsible tax/customs adviser for the transaction. This page states no tariff, VAT rate, preferential-origin result or landed-cost figure.
Buyer handoff checklist
- Current technical pack, sample version, measurement chart and material/trim references are identified.
- Quantity by style, colour and size is clear; assumptions and unresolved choices are marked.
- The buyer has approved the pre-production sample, artwork, packaging and final label text.
- Inspection method, acceptance criteria, timing and response are recorded in the order plan.
- The importer or representative has checked product-specific tariff, origin, document and tax questions with current official sources or qualified advisers.
- The quote records the confirmed route, named place or port where applicable, Incoterm, responsibilities, exclusions and timing endpoints.
This checklist does not replace Italy-specific legal, tax or customs advice.
