Private Label Clothing for Irish Brands

A clear product brief supports a useful production discussion. An Ireland-bound order also needs buyer-side checks for its actual importer, customs details and textile information; those checks depend on the product and transaction.

Fenalt coordinates apparel manufacturing through a managed, project-specific production network. This page does not promise production in Ireland or determine import or labelling requirements for a particular garment.

Turn a product idea into a production brief

Separate approved specifications from open decisions. Identify the garment and intended use; provide sketches or a tech pack, size range, measurement points and tolerances; describe confirmed fibre content, fabric weight, construction and colour; then list trims, print or embroidery, branding, labels and packaging requirements. Packaging scope is unconfirmed and requires written project confirmation. Include quantities by style, colour and size, target dates, reference samples and decision owners.

Fenalt reviews the brief, clarifies specifications, coordinates sampling and production, and agrees the quality and export-dispatch scope. Production options depend on the garment, requirements, capacity and commercial terms. No particular factory, material, finish or result is promised.

Confirm the sample, quantity and schedule

Fenalt's current planning reference is 50 pieces per style, subject to product and project conditions. Confirm in writing how styles, colours, fabric, construction and size splits affect the order quantity.

Current timing references are 10–15 days for sample production, plus a separate 3–5 day sample-shipping reference, and 15–20 days for bulk production from pre-production sample sign-off to export dispatch. These are estimates, not arrival guarantees. Materials, approvals, revisions, inspection, transport and import clearance can affect timing.

Before bulk production, agree the controlling tech-pack version, approved pre-production sample, quantities, artwork files, inspection plan, export documents, named delivery point and decision owners. Confirm any packaging requirements in writing.

Define quality against the specification

Record measurable acceptance criteria, including measurement points, units, tolerances, construction details and relevant garment checks. Fenalt's current inspection reference is AQL 2.5 under ANSI/ASQ Z1.4, General Inspection Level II, subject to written scope. Confirm inspection stage, sampling basis, defect classes, criteria and reporting in the order plan. AQL is a sampling approach; it does not mean every item is inspected or guarantee defect-free goods. Agree how non-conformities will be assessed and handled.

Prepare Ireland import and textile checks

For goods moving to or from a country outside the EU, Irish Revenue says customs registration and declarations apply; the business or an agent with the required electronic facility may lodge a declaration. Revenue notes that the commodity code depends on the specific product and is used to determine applicable import duties. The actual importer or representative should confirm the operator, EORI, classification, customs value, origin evidence and declaration arrangements for the shipment. This page does not determine a code, duty rate, preferential treatment, VAT amount or landed cost. Irish Revenue: New to customs

EU Regulation 1007/2011 sets rules for textile fibre names and fibre-composition labelling and marking. Application and artwork depend on the product and sales context. Confirm composition evidence, wording and language with a qualified adviser before approving labels. This page does not conclude which language is required for a particular product or channel. The agreed commercial terms should identify the named place or port and who handles transport and import formalities. Fenalt's general references include DAP for small-batch courier and FOB Chattogram for bulk sea freight, subject to project terms. Confirm the applicable Incoterm and version in the written offer; no route or arrival date is promised here.

Questions to resolve before approving an order

  • Is the tech pack complete, with confirmed fibre content, measurements, tolerances, colours, trims and artwork?
  • Are quantities and size splits confirmed for each style, and is the minimum feasible for this specification?
  • Which sample and specification version controls bulk production, and who may approve changes?
  • What inspection stage, sampling basis and acceptance criteria are recorded in the order?
  • Who is the importer or customs representative, and who will verify EORI, classification, value, origin and declarations?
  • Has an adviser confirmed label artwork and language for the product and sales channel?
  • Are transport, named delivery point, import formalities and any packaging scope confirmed in writing?

Start with the information you have

Share the product category, intended use, target quantity, available tech pack or sketches, confirmed material details and timing needs. Mark unknowns clearly. Fenalt can use the brief to discuss project fit and next steps; an enquiry does not establish final feasibility, compliance, price or delivery terms.
