German independent labels may need a run small enough to test a capsule, while DTC and streetwear brands often need repeatable sizes, heavy fabrics and specialist decoration. Retailers and corporate buyers may need planned shipment dates and documented inspection criteria. The appropriate order quantity depends on the style, fabric, materials and facility.
Fenalt does not operate a factory inside Germany. The team coordinates production with specialized partner facilities, translates the design into a production file, manages sampling and aligns the finished lot with the approved specifications. A per-style minimum is confirmed after review; a general quantity cannot be applied to every product.
A physical pre-production sample lets the buyer assess weight, hand-feel, shrinkage and seam construction before committing to bulk cutting. If a style performs well, the next batch can be planned using sell-through information, the approved measurement record and confirmed material availability.

Specialized surface treatments may include puff print, discharge screen print, embroidery or a custom wash. Define the artwork, shade and position on the approved sample so a later run can be compared with the original release.

A capsule or market-testing drop can limit the initial stock commitment. Once the style has traction, larger batches may improve material utilization and unit economics, but only after confirming the new order’s requirements and capacity.
Production timing is confirmed after the physical pre-production sample is approved and materials are ready. Seasonal target dates for Spring/Summer or Autumn/Winter should include the carrier estimate confirmed for the selected booking.
German market checks
Confirm labels, chemicals and packaging scope
Requirements can depend on product category, material, packaging and the operator placing the product on the German market. Confirm them before artwork and packaging are approved.
Textile fibre composition
Regulation (EU) No 1007/2011 governs textile fibre names and composition labelling. Use the language required for the German market. It does not itself require general care symbols or consumer-facing country-of-origin labels; check any separate product and market requirements before label artwork.
REACH and materials
Assess dyed yarns, prints and hardware against the restriction applying to each substance, article and intended use. REACH Annex XVII entries have specific scope and conditions; request supplier evidence or testing where appropriate.
VerpackG and LUCID
Registration and system-participation duties depend on packaging and the operator placing it on the German market. Confirm the responsible party and applicable obligations. Recyclable packaging choices alone do not establish compliance.
Import into Germany
Set the customs roles before freight is booked
A delivery term should match the named location and transport mode. Duty, tax and EORI requirements depend on the transaction and each operator’s role.

An EORI number is required for customs operations where EU rules require it for the operator’s role. Confirm the importer and representative requirements for the transaction. Import VAT, or *Einfuhrumsatzsteuer*, follows German rules for the legally defined taxable amount.
Customs duty depends on tariff classification, origin and current measures or preferences. Check the applicable TARIC entry. For bulk freight, German ports such as Hamburg or Bremerhaven may be part of the route; carrier estimates for Hamburg, Frankfurt or other destinations are confirmed at booking.
Prepare the commercial invoice, packing list, accurate tariff classification and origin documents required for the shipment.

Monitor stitch-per-inch requirements, seam construction, grading consistency and relevant finishing steps.
Pre-shipment
