Define a product brief and approvals
Use a current specification with measurements, tolerances, materials, trims, colours, labels, packaging and destination. Separate confirmed details from assumptions. List quantities by style, colour and size and name sample and change approvers.
Set quantity, sample and quality gates
Fenalt’s approved minimum is 50 pieces per style. Planning references are 10–15 days for sample production plus 3–5 days for shipping, then 15–20 days from pre-production sample approval to export dispatch. These are not arrival estimates. AQL 2.5 under ANSI/ASQ Z1.4 Level II is a sampling method, not a defect-free guarantee.
Check local import and consumer requirements
For consumer textile sales in Finland, EU rules cover fibre names and composition. Tukes says mandatory consumer information and labelling must be available in Finnish and Swedish; confirm B2B commercial-document treatment for the transaction. Customs classification, origin, preferential treatment and import VAT are product- and importer-specific.
- Confirm the Finnish importer, customs declarant and required EORI details.
- Check commodity classification and origin evidence in Fintaric for the actual garment.
- Confirm who handles import VAT based on Finnish VAT-registration status.
- Review Finnish and Swedish fibre information; separately check product safety and chemicals.
Clarify Fenalt’s role and order terms
Fenalt coordinates sourcing and production through a managed partner network; do not describe it as a factory owner. Approved references describe DAP for some small courier shipments and FOB Chattogram for some bulk sea freight. Confirm timing, named place or port, costs and responsibilities in the quotation.
