Small-Batch Clothing Manufacturing for Swiss Brands
A small run starts with a defined product brief. For a Swiss fashion label, emerging business or procurement team, document styles, materials, sizes, quantities and unresolved decisions in a way that can be reviewed before production.
Fenalt provides fully managed apparel manufacturing and sourcing. Depending on the project, Fenalt coordinates technical review, material sourcing, sampling, production partners, agreed quality activity and delivery. Fenalt manages the project; manufacturing is carried out through factories, suppliers and production partners selected for the requirements. This page does not claim Swiss-based garment production.
Production brief
Build a usable production brief
For each style, describe intended use, silhouette, size range, knit or woven construction, fibre and fabric details, colours, trims, branding and finish. A current tech pack helps. Reference images can clarify design direction, but do not replace measurements, construction notes or agreed acceptance criteria.
List quantities separately by style, colour and size. Keep the first order distinct from forecasts or possible repeats. Fenalt's approved standard MOQ reference is 50 pieces per style. Feasibility for a specific product, price and terms must be confirmed in its written quote; quantities for different styles do not automatically combine.
Production workflow
From brief to production approval
- Technical review: Share the current specification and version, materials, construction, sizes and quantities. Identify open decisions.
- Feasibility and sourcing: Fenalt reviews the brief with suitable project partners. Material availability, capabilities, minimums and price are confirmed for the project.
- Sample and approval: Check fit, measurements, construction, materials, colour, labels and agreed test evidence against the sample. Record the approved version in writing.
- Production coordination: Before production, confirm quality scope, quantities, production origin, delivery point, Incoterm and schedule. Changes need review.
Quality planning
Agree quality requirements
Set measurable acceptance criteria and inspection scope before production. Fenalt's approved quality reference is AQL 2.5 under ANSI/ASQ Z1.4 Level II; whether and how it applies to an order must be defined in the agreed plan. Measurements use standard industry tolerances, with product-specific points of measure and tolerances agreed. Non-conformities are reviewed against the agreed standard, and Fenalt coordinates suitable corrective action with the production partner. Needle or metal detection can be incorporated where required by the product, buyer specification or production facility. Material inspection methods and testing are order-dependent.
Timing references
Timing references for sampling and production
Approved references are 10–15 days for sample production, plus a separate 3–5 days for sample shipping. Bulk production is referenced at 15–20 days from pre-production sample sign-off to export dispatch. These are not guarantees and exclude international transit, customs clearance and final delivery. Confirm the project schedule in writing.
Swiss market
Prepare for the Swiss market and import
Before labels are printed, ask the responsible Swiss importer or a qualified specialist to confirm the requirements that apply to the specific garment. Set fibre, care and origin information, as well as performance or environmental claims, using evidence for the actual product. This page is not legal advice or a product compliance determination.
For import preparation, the Federal Office for Customs and Border Security (FOCBS/BAZG) directs businesses to the Tares tariff application for tariff numbers, charges and related measures. Any charges can depend on tariff number, quantity, weight, value and country of origin, so classification and treatment need to be checked for the goods. Prepare accurate commercial invoices and packing lists, along with any required origin evidence or authorisations. The importer or customs representative should confirm import VAT and clearance arrangements. Importation checklist for companies.
Fenalt's general delivery references are DAP for small-batch courier shipments and FOB Chattogram for bulk sea freight. Routing and terms depend on production origin, destination, shipment size and agreed Incoterm. No general duty amount, landed cost or delivery timeline is promised; confirm project terms in the written quote.
