Small-Batch Clothing Manufacturing for UAE Brands

A smaller production run still needs a clear product brief, quantities by style, and written agreement on samples, quality checks and delivery. Fenalt manages apparel manufacturing and sourcing coordination through factories, suppliers and production partners selected for each project. Production origin, methods and terms depend on the brief; Fenalt does not claim to own factories or manufacture in the UAE.

Prepare a production brief

Run planning

Set out quantities by style

List units for each style, colour and size rather than relying on one combined total. Include fabric and known composition, construction, finishes, trims, print or embroidery, branding, labels and packaging. Fenalt's standard minimum-order reference is 50 pieces per style. Ask the quotation to confirm how it applies to the chosen fabric, colours, finishes and size split; it does not promise that every combination is feasible at that quantity.

Include for the first review

  • Current tech pack or product description and intended use
  • Reference images, measurements and tolerances
  • Known fabric composition, finishes and trims
  • Artwork, branding, labels and packaging
  • Quantities by style, colour and size
  • Sample and production approvers
  • UAE destination and planning window
  • Inspection criteria and open assumptions

Flag open decisions. Ask the written quote to state assumptions, sample stages, materials, inspection, packing, transport, exclusions and unresolved points. No public price or universal fabric or colour minimum is established here.

Samples and production

Keep planning references separate from delivery

Fenalt's sampling reference is 10–15 days for production, with a separate 3–5 day shipping reference. Confirm the sample stage, dispatch point and transport method. The shipping reference is not a guaranteed arrival date in the UAE and excludes customs processing and local delivery.

The bulk-production reference is 15–20 days from pre-production sample sign-off to export dispatch. Freight, customs processing and final delivery are separate. Confirm the production calendar, materials, approvals and inspection plan in writing; this is not an end-to-end delivery commitment.

Before bulk production, keep the approved sample and current tech-pack revision with the size chart, quantities by style and colour, label and packaging artwork, and inspection criteria. Record proposed substitutions or revisions and their effect on scope before approval. Fenalt's inspection reference is AQL 2.5 under ANSI/ASQ Z1.4 Level II, where specified in the agreed plan. Define lot, sample, defect categories, acceptance criteria and inspection stage. AQL is a sampling method, not a zero-defect promise.

Product information

Ask a local specialist to review the garment

Intended use, composition, presentation, sales channel and importer can affect which product-information and label checks apply. Before approving labels or packaging, ask a UAE-based product or compliance specialist to review the actual garment and how it will be offered for sale. This page states no universal UAE textile-label rule and does not replace that review.

Import and delivery responsibilities

Have the importer check clearance and tax treatment

UAE government customs guidance describes clearance procedures and points to relevant customs authorities and services. The Federal Tax Authority says VAT on imports is due, and treatment depends in part on whether the recipient is VAT-registered. The importer should confirm the actual goods, entry point, documents, classification, clearance steps and tax treatment with the relevant customs authority or qualified UAE adviser. These references establish no garment tariff code, duty rate, VAT amount or landed cost. See UAE government customs-clearance guidance and the Federal Tax Authority import VAT FAQ.

Fenalt's delivery references are DAP for small-batch courier shipments and FOB Chattogram for bulk sea freight. Routing and terms depend on production origin, destination, shipment size and the agreed Incoterm. Confirm the named place or port, transport responsibilities and import arrangements in the written quote. These references do not promise DDP or a particular arrival date.

Prepare a clear project brief

Organise the product, size range, quantities by style and colour, fabric and trim requirements, branding, label and packaging artwork, approval contacts, inspection expectations and UAE destination. Identify the intended importer and raise product-information, classification or clearance questions early so a local specialist can review the actual product and route. Submit a project brief or read about Fenalt's services.
